Science Diplomacy for Quantum Security: Building Transatlantic Resilience
5:00 – 8:00 PM ET
Nokia HQ
600 March Road Ottawa, Ontario Canada, K2K 2E6
Quantum technologies are advancing rapidly, and the urgency to secure digital infrastructure against quantum-enabled threats is now a strategic priority for governments, standards bodies, and industry. Quantum-safe security is not only a technical challenge but a transatlantic policy and diplomacy challenge, requiring coordination across research communities, national strategies, and industrial ecosystems.
Ahead of the ETSI / Institute for Quantum Computing Quantum-Safe Cryptography (QSC) Conference, this invitation-only event offers a high-level policy and international cooperation complement to the conference’s technical program. Convening senior leaders from government, standards bodies, academia, and industry, including speakers from organizations such as Amazon Web Services, ID Quantique, evolutionQ, and Nokia, the convening will focus on aligning quantum-safe migration strategies, advancing interoperability across jurisdictions, and leveraging science diplomacy to address the global coordination challenges posed by emerging quantum risks.
Why Attend
Gain access to conversations at the intersection of science, diplomacy, and global policy. This event is designed for leaders who want to understand:
How international standards bodies are coordinating on quantum-safe migration
How governments are shaping national and transatlantic quantum strategies
How industry is preparing for quantum-resilient architectures
How science diplomacy can bridge geopolitical divides in quantum security
Hosted by Nokia & Science Diplomacy Grid in collaboration with ETSI, IQC, QIC & YQS2026 with financial support from Nokia & Honeywell

Grid Talks: Hidden Systems, Global Solutions | Emerging Contaminants and Ocean Governance
1:00 – 2:00 PM ET
Virtual
Join us online for a 1-hour Science Diplomacy Grid session featuring two flash talks that explore how science diplomacy can help address some of the most consequential yet often invisible challenges facing our planet.
Across two interconnected themes, this event will spotlight:
Emerging Contaminants and International Scientific Cooperation — “The Lindau Spirit: From Diplomacy to Discovery in the Fight Against Emerging Contaminants”
Ocean Governance and Microbial Systems — “Decisions in the Dark: Microbial Behavior and the Governance Gap in Our Oceans”
From the growing challenge of emerging contaminants that cross borders and demand coordinated scientific responses, to the microscopic marine organisms that quietly regulate ocean health, climate processes, and global biogeochemical cycles, these talks will reveal how critical environmental systems often remain hidden from public view and policymaking alike.
Whether confronting pollutants of emerging concern or recognizing the role of microbial life in ocean stewardship, both topics demonstrate the importance of bridging discovery and diplomacy in addressing global environmental change.
